Composite and Alloy Toe Electrical Hazard Wellington Rubber Work Boots
Composite and Alloy safety toe work boots have the same ASTM F2413 safety rating as steel-toe but are lighter weight. Composite toe safety shoes can be more comfortable in cold weather as the composite materials don't transfer the cold the way steel toed boots do. The one drawback of composite is that a heavy strike to the toe cap while protecting the foot might technically weaken the material to the point that they no longer are considered ASTM compliant. Steel or metal on the otherhand might dent, but generally retains its full ASTM rating.
